The Shire of Carnarvon is a local government area in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia, located about 900 kilometres (560 mi) north of the state capital, Perth. The Shire covers an area of 46,664 square kilometres (18,017 sq mi), and its seat of government is the town of Carnarvon. The major industries in the area are wool, agriculture (especially bananas and tomatoes) and, more recently, tourism.

Expressions of Interest About This Position The Shire of Carnarvon seeks expressions of interest from motivated and inquisitive students for a 12-month fulltime traineeship in the position of Trainee Aerodrome Reporting Officer. Interested students may be invited to attend a two-week work experience placement. Traineeship Requirements Applicants may be required to undergo aptitude testing. The successful applicant will be required to: Attend a comprehensive five-day training course in Perth within the first month of appointment; and Complete Cert II or III Aviation – Ground Operations and Service during the term of their contract.
