Our Information Management Team is looking for an experienced and talented individual to fill the position of Coordinator Information Management.

This fantastic opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and team focused professional to lead the Information Management team who work in partnership with City of Mandurah staff in establishing and maintaining an information environment that enables staff to easily capture, retain, process and retrieve information electronically across multiple platforms and channels.

The role offers innovative opportunities in the overall development and improvement of information management across the City.

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the work of the Information Management team including the day-to-day operations and performance objectives and coordinating the training and development of Information Management staff to enable them to undertake their duties and responsibilities.
  • Developing and delivering training programs for City of Mandurah staff and Elected Members on recordkeeping responsibilities and Freedom of Information.
  • Managing the administration of the City’s electronic document and records management system including security and access controls, reporting retention, disposal and archiving and conducting scheduled audits.
  • Coordinating the City of Mandurah’s Freedom of Information service.
  • Coordinating the City of Mandurah’s retention, disposal and archiving program.
  • Coordinating and monitoring of the City’s risk, disaster and emergency management program to ensure that all corporate information is stored and maintained according to relevant information management legislation and standards.
  • Coordinating the development, implementation and maintenance of documents, publications, strategies, policies, plans and procedures related to Information Management to ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Providing strategic advice to the Management and Executive Leadership Teams on all matters relating to Information Management.

To be successful you will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Graduate Diploma in Information Management (Records and Archives)
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, specifically the Freedom of Information Act 1992 and the State Records Act 2000
  • Extensive experience in Freedom of Information decision making
  • Extensive experience in an electronic Information Management environment and a sound understanding of the associated principles, practices, legislation and standards
  • Significant experience in the operation and administration of an EDRMS together with high level computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office products
  • Extensive experience in developing Record Keeping Plans in alignment with the State Records Act 2000
  • Extensive experience leading and managing a small team including the provision of mentoring and coaching to staff
  • Significant knowledge of and experience in applying information security practices for all information types and systems
  • Experience in developing, coordinating and delivering comprehensive training and support packages
  • A current unrestricted “C” class national driver’s licence

This Full-Time Level 9 position attracts a salary range of $109,098 - $116,345 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
