Kellerberrin District High School (DHS) are seeking a visible, highly motivated and culturally responsive Deputy Principal to join their team.
Supporting the advancement of the school vision of Successful Students, Quality Staff and a Connected Community, the successful applicant will understand what highly effective teachers do and work collaboratively with the Leadership team to create conditions for everyone to develop and perform at their best. This includes students in early childhood, primary and secondary. They will have the leadership skills and capacity to support the school’s ongoing implementation of Visible Learning as the framework for instruction. The successful applicant will be an excellent classroom practitioner and have a teaching load of approximately 0.4FTE.
Kellerberrin District High School is located in the Wheatbelt town of Kellerberrin, 200 kilometres east of Perth in the Wheatbelt Education Region. The school has an enrolment of approximately 100 students of which 19% identify as Aboriginal. The school is on a strong improvement trajectory, therefore, a commitment to collaboration leading to informed decision making and highly effective school planning, self-assessment and accountability practices will be a characteristic of the successful applicants’ leadership.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
