An exciting opportunity exists for a Teacher Aide to join the West Moreton Education and Training Centre. We are looking for an experienced Teacher Aide who can work in our Manual Arts department. The Teacher Aide will provide assistance and support to the Manual Arts teachers by setting up equipment/tools/materials prior to classes constructing project examples completing maintenance of stock and equipment general cleaning tasks and assisting students with their work during classes. This role will be incredibly varied and includes but is not limited to general classroom support, in the areas of literacy and numeracy preparation of resources (including technology) and administrative duties such as photocopying and filing. Prior experience in the building, construction, or metalwork industry will be highly regarded.

About West Moreton Education and Training Centre
The West Moreton Education and Training Centre is a co-educational school that delivers educational programs for up to 32 remanded and sentenced young people at West Moreton Youth Detention Centre located in Wacol. The centre operates on a 1:4 teacher-student ratio. The school works collaboratively with interdepartmental agencies in restorative practices and to address literacy/numeracy gaps. We offer courses aimed at preparing students for the transition to the community, employment and further training. Our staff is passionate about helping improve the knowledge, skills, and abilities of our students, many of whom have had disrupted or negative experiences of schooling.
