We’re on the lookout for a Bushfire Mitigation Advisor to join the Emergency Services team. Reporting to the Community Emergency Services Manager, you will also assist in meeting the Shire’s responsibilities for fire mitigation planning, preparedness, prevention, response and recovery. You will be responsible for developing long-term plans for fire mitigation programs on Shire controlled Reserves.
The successful candidate will possess Advanced Bush Fire Fighting qualifications and proven knowledge of environmentally sensitive fire mitigation practices. An understanding of issues and practices pertaining to the natural environment are key. The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is a local government area in the south-west corner of the South West region of Western Australia, approximately 270 kilometres (168 mi) south of Perth.
