The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a driven individual, to be engaged on a three (3) year, fixed term full-time contract, who will assist with procurement and delivery of capital projects for Council’s small scale generation assets at all points of the project cycle from detailed planning to delivery and commissioning, including representing BVSC in the management of consultants and contractors.

As Project Manager – Solar Projects, you will understand and communicate required scope of projects and necessary tasks and activities to deliver projects, engage with all relevant internal and external stakeholders and effectively manage relationships in order to maximise outcomes for Council and liaise with internal QA representatives to audit and inspect construction works at all significant stages.

You will also:

• Prepare briefs and tender documentation calling for preliminary design, concept design, detailed design, or construction services.
• Evaluate submitted proposals and award to the winning bidder.
• Maintain relevant records and registers.
• Assist with the development of Quality and Environmental Systems in the areas of construction and project management, including associated policies, procedures, and systems monitoring and reporting.
• Assist with development of strategies for community consultation relating to infrastructure issues
• Use contemporary technology and equipment such as tablets and smartphones for planning and recording data.

About You

We are seeking an proactive Project Manager who holds a Bachelor degree in an engineering or project/construction management discipline appropriate to the position and has proven successful delivery of a project(s) with a similar scope.

You will have the following skills and experience

• Experience delivering works across the project cycle (eg. tasks required for a safe and compliant concept design in NSW)
• Sound understanding of contract management principals including risk management, WHS and EEO.
• Ability to manage relationships with contractors and professional consultants in order to achieve results.
• Well-developed skills in the interpretation of detailed engineering plans, specifications and quality systems.
• High level written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability in the use of Microsoft Office software, MS Project, project planning software and spatial information software.
• Additional skills, knowledge and qualifications that may be applicable to this position, such as experience in planning, design and construction of council infrastructure, experience in capital works provision, experience in asset management systems, other specialist training/qualifications or work experience.

This is a fixed term full-time position working 35 hours per week. Remuneration is $1740.10 per week, plus 9.5% employer superannuation contribution.
