Permanent 19 hours per week

Our Recreation Centres Team has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented Team Leader to lead the efficient operation of the City’s Recreation Centres Creche department ensuring high quality outcomes are achieved.

The role requires you to lead the team ensuring the efficient delivery of Recreation Centres Creche services and programs that meet the current and future needs of the community.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership to ensure safety & customer service standards are maintained
  • Leading the team in providing Creche child care at the Mandurah Aquatic & Recreation Centre.
  • Ensure all Creche equipment is maintained to high and safe standards at all times.
  • Educate and train staff on current Creche & child care trends
  • Promote healthy lifestyle choices for residents and visitors of the City of Mandurah.
  • Liaise with Communications team to assist with marketing and promoting Creche Programs.

To be successful you will have:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position within the Recreation industry
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Working with Children Check
  • Police Clearance (less than 6 months) or willing to apply
  • Previous experience supervising employees in fitness environment
  • Extensive knowledge of the Sport, Recreation and Leisure Industry;
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the operations of Local Government;
  • Ability to lead the development of a supportive team environment and contribution towards a constructive culture which achieves team, departmental and organisational goals;
  • Strong leadership skills including coaching others, staff development and promotion of a team approach to business

This permanent, 19 hours per week position attracts a salary range of Level 4 $68,332 - $73,548 pro rata depending on qualifications and experience. This position is located at the Mandurah Aquatic & Recreation Centre, 303 Pinjarra Road, Mandurah.
