TAFE NSW is looking for individuals with current industry experience and knowledge in Carpentry to join our team of teachers on a permanent full-time basis.

If you are interested in sharing your talents by teaching the next generation, then this is for you!

The role of the TAFE teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate III in Carpentry and/or Certificate III Carpentry and Joinery, or equivalent
  • Certificate IV in Building or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant and current post qualification experience as a Carpenter; including experience in domestic housing construction
  • Be able to demonstrate commitment to maintaining professional and technical currency, as an example, eligibility for a maintenance of a Contractor’s Licence
  • Experience in Carpentry with knowledge of industry trends
  • ONE of the qualifications below:
    • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or its successor, or
    • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, plus the following units:
      • Adult language, literacy and numeracy skills - TAELLN401A or TAELLN411 (or its successor), and
      • Design and develop assessment tools -TAEASS502A, TAEASS502B, or TAEASS502 (or its successor) or
    • Diploma or higher level qualification in adult education
