About the role:

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic industry expert, someone who has experience and high level competence in high risk work.

In this role, you would be responsible for activities including:

  • Sharing knowledge and experience in your specialist area;
    Practical skills training in simulated workplace environments;
  • Managing the learning process to enable students to achieve their best;
  • Developing and delivering relevant and industry current course material;
  • Ensuring that their own professional teaching and vocational competence and currency is kept up to date along with licensing requirements.

If you currently don’t have the minimum required teaching qualifications, yet you have extensive industry experience and associated qualifications, TAFE Gippsland will consider your application but you must meet all other criteria shown in the Job Description. This position is subject to a six month probationary period.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent is desirable
  • Vocational competence in high risk work
  • Knowledge of and experience in the delivery of industry-specific skills is desirable
  • Industry experience in high risk work
  • First Aid Certificate (Level 2) is desirable
  • Ideally, hold all of the following High Risk Work Licences with two years of recent vocational currency:
    • LF-Licence to operate a forklift truck
    • WP-Licence to operate a boom type elevated work platform >11 metres
    • DG-Licence to perform dogging
    • RB-Licence to perform rigging-Basic level
    • RI-Licence to perform rigging-Intermediate level
    • C2-Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 20 tonne)
    • RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights
    • RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces
