Position Information

Kandeer School is a School for Specific Purposes in Albury and has a maximum enrolment of 21 students, including 20% Aboriginal students, with a focus on Years 5 to 10. The school implements learning programs for students with mental health disorders and histories of complex trauma. School staff work in collaboration with varying organisations to enlist the best services on offer to support students.

Kandeer School offers an alternative educational approach to support complex learners. Key programs include mindfulness and project-based learning. Personalised Learning and Support Plans are developed for each student focusing on academic, social/emotional and transition goals. Class programs use mainstream content and outcomes encompassing all key learning areas.

Kandeer School operates on a transition model; all students are shared enrolments with their local mainstream school and participate in at least one day per week transition. Our school aims to support students through an individual case management approach to integrate successfully back into a mainstream school, or develop skills that will enhance their ability to positively engage in the wider community.
