Job Description
About the role
This position is responsible for the coordination of the delivery of Council initiated public art projects, and the review and assessment of public art plans submitted to Council. This role is also responsible for identifying strategic opportunities to grow the City's cultural offer in alignment with the City of Parramatta's Cultural Plan.
On a daily basis you will:
- Coordinate the delivery of Council initiated public art projects from concept stage to delivery of the final public artwork.
- Work with internal and external customers on the assessment of public arts plans for significant city developments and major private developments.
- Research, broker and grow relationships with cultural organisations, creative businesses and industries, and government organisations to enhance and contribute to the long term growth of the arts and cultural offering in the City.
About the person
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:
Qualifications
Tertiary level qualification in arts administration/management, education or appropriate area or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in developing and implementing projects, programs and strategies for arts, design or creative industries related organisations or businesses.
- Proven experience in the design, production and/or project management of public art projects.
- Experience in partnership programs and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully working with artists and arts and cultural organisations.

The City of Parramatta Council is a local government area located west of central Sydney in the Greater Western Sydney region. Parramatta Council is situated between the City of Ryde and Cumberland, where the Cumberland Plain meets the Hornsby Plateau, approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) west of the Sydney central business district, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.
