Business Governance Officer

About the role

This position is responsible for providing high level advice, governance support and compliance reporting to the Property & Place Directorate. This role has a solid reporting line to the Governance Manager, Corporate Administration and a dotted reporting line into the Executive Director, Property & Place.

On a daily basis you will:

• Provide high level executive business governance support to the Property & Place Team;
• Provide policy and advisory support to the Property & Place team and Governance team, when required;
• Provide technical advice and direction to staff, management and external parties on governance matters including access to inforamtion and privacy;
• Manage the preparation of Council reports and other governance reports for the Property & Place team;
• Undertake strategic policy research, analyse and evaluate a wide range of complex information and data for project related advice to support the Executive Director;
• Develop, implement, monitor and control compliance obligations and reporting for the Property & Place team;
• Other duties as outlined within the position description.

About the person

The successful candidate should be tertiary qualified in business administration, economics or related discipline. They should have previous experience in preparing reports, policies and correspondence in a local and state government context, proven experience in policy and process development and implementation, demonstrated skills and experience in submissions into state government departments and skills and experience in project management and delivery.
