Broome North Primary School (PS) is seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Education Assistant – Special Needs (EASN) to join their school.
As an EASN, you will assist students to develop confidence and a sense of well-being in a variety of educational settings. In addition to the duties listed for an EASN, you may at times be required to undertake generic duties, which include meeting the individual education and care needs of students with a range of special needs, including intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments (vision and hearing) and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Your willingness to work with students with high and complex medical needs is highly desirable.
Under teacher direction, you will assist in the implementation of specialised education programs such as literacy, Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN), Workplace Learning, Vocational Education and Training (VET), occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physiotherapy programs.
Broome North PS is an Independent Public School that caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school, opened in 2015, is a modern facility located on Yawuru land in the coastal town of Broome, part of Western Australia's stunning Kimberley region.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

Education Assistants working with Kindergarten students may be required to have, or be actively working towards, a Certificate lll in Education Support (or approved equivalent) in order to meet the educator-to-student ratio outlined in the National Quality Standard for Early Childhood Education and Care.
