In this role you will be reporting directly to the Chief People and Culture Officer and contributing strategically across Council as a member of a dynamic People and Culture Team.
This position is responsible for developing and executing Council’s WHS&W strategy and driving effective outcomes through leadership, coaching and influencing.
As a trusted advisor within the People and Culture Team, you will manage the design, implementation and improvement of Councils Safety Management System to achieve our safety vision and foster a positive safety culture. This includes the management of Work Health & Safety support, workers compensation management, injury management and health and wellbeing.
This is an ideal role for an experienced WHS leader who can lead across four pillars of WHS&W:
You will have the support of a high-performing team who are equally as passionate about delivering WHS specialist advice and technical and management support to a multi-disciplinary organisation.

The City of Parramatta Council is a local government area located west of central Sydney in the Greater Western Sydney region. Parramatta Council is situated between the City of Ryde and Cumberland, where the Cumberland Plain meets the Hornsby Plateau, approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) west of the Sydney central business district, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.
The City occupies an area of 84 square kilometres (32 sq mi) spanning across suburbs in Greater Western Sydney, the Hills District and a small section of Northern Sydney to the far north east of its area. According to the 2016 census, City of Parramatta Council had an estimated population of 226,149. The City houses the Parramatta central business district which is one of the key suburban employment destinations for the region of Greater Western Sydney.
