Kenmore SHS is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated educator to join its executive leadership team. Head of Program: Pathways (VET) - Head of Year 11 is a position that involves working closely with students, parents and teachers to support our senior students as they successfully navigate their individual pathways through the senior school and beyond.

Kenmore State High School is located in the Brisbane Central & West District in a most attractive setting on about 11.2 hectares on Moggill Creek in Kenmore. The school draws its students from the growing Western districts and the broader geographic areas, over 60 suburbs in total.

As the Head of Year (11), you will have the following accountabilities;

  • The active contribution to the Engagement, Belonging, Wellbeing and Behaviour Support of every student in your Year Level.
  • The active contribution to the Student Welfare Team and students defined as "at risk" academically and social emotionally.
  • The responsibility for Year Level Events in partnership with the Year Level Coordinator whole cohort activities to develop a sense of year-level identity and belonging (e.g. Year level assemblies and celebrations).
  • Promoting positive education (PERMAH) and the upholding of school values and expectations through excellent communication skills.
  • Liaising with parents and communicating with teachers of the year level to support student needs.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Deputy of Senior Schooling.

As the manager of the Pathways (VET) portfolio, you will have the following accountabilities;

  • Vocational Education (enrolment, management and reporting oversight)
  • School based traineeships & Apprenticeships (ongoing communication and liaison with stakeholders)
  • Students undertaking TAFE/External providers and work experience (advertisement, communication, progress tracking and management)
  • Community partnerships and alliances that support and give benefit to students' personal and career development.
  • QCE tracking and completion strategies in collaboration with the HOY - Year 12

Release time includes 4 lines (1 teaching line only) to cater for the large cohort and portfolio responsibilities required.
