Did you know the average daily commute time in Brisbane is approximately 67 minutes? In that same amount of time you could drive from Cairns city to Innisfail in the south or Port Douglas in the north!
Housing is very affordable in Far North Queensland where the median house price in Cairns is around $432,000, Innisfail is $290,000, Tully $215,000 and across the Tablelands $350,000. The average weekly rent for a house is around $420p/wk in Cairns, $275p/wk in Innisfail, $320p/wk in Tully and $330p/wk in the Tablelands.

REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS
All Queensland State Schools are allocated a transfer rating which is determined by the remoteness or distance of the location from a major city and services. While the base salary range for teachers is the same across the state; rural, remote and even regional locations provide additional financial benefits and incentives that are above and beyond the base salary.
Some locations also attract additional benefits including access to subsidised departmental accommodation, additional leave in the summer vacation period and the support of a dedicated team of professionals from our Centre for Learning and Wellbeing (CLaW).
