Fleet Manager

The Cities of Charles Sturt, Marion and Port Adelaide Enfield share a vision of collaboration to increase their capability in enhancing the lives and environments of those in their communities. Collaboration will enable the three councils to share resources, improve efficiencies and develop / support our leadership teams to be innovative and highly effective in achieving goals.

In this newly created collaborative position, the Fleet Manager will report to the General Manager Asset Management Services at the City of Charles Sturt, providing fleet management expertise and leadership across the three Councils of Charles Sturt, Port Adelaide Enfield and Marion, driving improved commercial and environmental outcomes through active management of our fleet utilisation and spend. The fleet of the three councils has a diverse range and includes heavy construction equipment, trucks, tractors, mowers, sweepers, commercial and light vehicles. There are over 770 fleet assets with a value of approximately $50 million across the three councils.

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for the leadership, planning, specification and delivery of the replacement of, disposal of, and maintenance and utilisation of the plant, equipment and vehicles for the three Councils, whilst ensuring service delivery and the safety of our staff and collective communities are at the forefront. Utilisation, cost reduction & operational excellence improvements will be critical to success in this role.

This role requires an individual with experience and demonstrated achievement in a key leadership role within fleet, asset or operations management. Demonstrated experience in leading and championing change within diverse teams, including workshop/trades teams and within a leadership/corporate setting, as well as the ability to collaborate across a number of large, diverse organisations will also be key to your success.
