There are over 24 million people in Australia, and it is predicted that by 2047, 7.5 million of these will be classed as seniors. This is driving demand for qualified aged care professionals with an expected 69,200 job openings to 2025. For this reason, we need to further build our cohort of teachers to support this growth.

TAFE NSW is looking for individuals with current industry experience and knowledge in Aged Care and Disability to join our team of Teachers.

The Opportunity
The role of the TAFE Teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

Join a Teaching environment that will train, empower and qualify the aged care workers and Disability Assistants of tomorrow.

  • Teach students face-to-face in classrooms and online
  • Support students 1:1
  • Issue, mark and provide feedback on assessments
  • Student administration, including marking rolls and recording results
  • Maintain relationships with local industry and employers
  • Stay current with industry practice

About you
To be considered for this position, you will have demonstrated:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in a relevant field (Aged Care or Disability).
  • Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent (please still apply if you are working towards or interested in obtaining this Certificate).
