Halls Head College is seeking to establish a pool of innovative and enthusiastic Science Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year, up to the end of the 2022 school year.

Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of the 2022 school year.

Halls Head College are seeking applicants who are able to utilise highly effective teaching practices and have a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice.

An excellent knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and a capacity to deliver content in an engaging manner to instil our students with a passion for science is highly sought.

The initiative to work well with your colleagues to develop teaching strategies and approaches to ensure each student can reach their maximum potential should be addressed in your application.

Applicants who are able to successfully deliver Senior School courses, both Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and General, offered by the College would be highly desirable and are encouraged to apply.

Halls Head College is uniquely situated on the 'island' of Halls Head just south of Mandurah. The local intake area of Halls Head College is south, close to the Waroona Shire boundary.

The contributory primary schools are Glencoe, Halls Head, Falcon, South Halls Head and Ocean Road. The college provides a secondary education for students who live in the rapidly growing coastal strip, south of Mandurah.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
