North Perth Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of experienced and enthusiastic Kindergarten to Year 6 Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during Term 4, 2021 and up to the end of Term 4, 2022.

Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2022.

We are ideally seeking accomplished teachers with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills which underpin professional and positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.

Suitable applicants will become an integral part of this community partnership to support each child to reach their potential.

As a teacher at North Perth PS, you will work in a collaborative environment to improve student outcomes, reflect on your own performance, contribute to staff development and support our distributed leadership structure.

You will be committed to continuous improvement, ideally by your willingness to accept and implement change, and also in your ability to lead initiatives at a phase of learning and/or school-wide level.

Suitable applicants will ideally be highly skilled and motivated educators who are passionate about teaching, with an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, especially in Literacy and Numeracy.

The school is focused on embedding evidence-based practices for teaching and learning and therefore, it is desirable for applicants to be able to demonstrate their high quality teaching skills and how they impact student achievement.

Our school vision, “Inspiring young minds, creating possibilities” is supported by our mission to foster an inspiring community of learners in which committed educators and parents work together to develop each child.

We value learning that is holistic, encompassing the social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative dimensions.

This is reflected in our Business Plan 2020-2022. Our sense of community is further underpinned by our values of inclusivity, resilience, respect and responsibility.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education).

Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

Applications will be assessed against these domains. The business needs of the school may also be considered.

It is therefore recommended that you consider all information contained in the advertisement and any other related information before applying for the vacancy.

Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying.

Applicants may be appointed to a vacancy based on the qualification being completed via the Leap program.

The Department is an equal opportunity employer and encourages people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and persons from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.
