Job Description

About the position:

The City is seeking an Events & Venues Bookings Officer who will be responsible for activating and ensuring regular bookings of City Facilities. Additionally, the position is responsible for undertaking a range of functions and activities to support the delivery of City-run and City supported events throughout the year. The officer will work closely with the Events Team to ensure community, cultural and mayoral events and functions are planned and executed to a high professional standard.

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage the bookings calendar for identified City grounds and facilities, including the Geraldton Multipurpose Centre (G.M.C), for community events, functions and entertainment.
  • Contribute to the development of systems and practices to ensure continuous improvement in the administration of venue bookings processes.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders as well as internal departments of the City regarding grounds/facilities bookings and event approval applications.
  • Lead the inductions with hirers who have made bookings of venues and City parks.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will ideally have a diploma in Events Management, Hospitality or Business or experience with relevant certificate level qualification. Additionally, the position requires developed organisational, time management and event skills.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $63,792 per annum or $32.28 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
