Are you a student focused, curriculum driven and engaging teacher?

Piara Waters Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Teachers - Kindergarten to Year 6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year.

Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.

Suitable teachers will ideally have a high level of WA curriculum, instructional and assessment knowledge, and work effectively in a collaborative team.

Applicants should also be able to provide examples of outstanding pedagogy and experience in consistently implementing whole-school practices.

At Piara Waters PS you will be supported to use iPads as a tool for students to access the curriculum. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic (STEM) skills are developed in students through a strong science, mathematics and digital technologies program.

Teachers know their students and the curriculum well and classroom programs are responsive to these.

Our teachers differentiate the curriculum for individual students, including English As an additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) students.

The suitable applicants will work positively and effectively will all students and families and be able to differentiate the curriculum in order to meet differing student needs.

The staff are currently reviewing a number of school processes and applicants need to be prepared to contribute to, reflect on and review whole school approaches.

Teachers also need to be data literate and respond to data in ways that support student learning.

Piara Waters PS opened in February 2012 catering for students in Kindergarten to Year 6 and is located in the suburb of Piara Waters (South Metropolitan Education Region).

  • Early Childhood teacher (K-2)
  • Primary teacher (1-6)
  • Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
  • be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
