The Opportunity
TAFE NSW is looking for a suitability qualified, experienced and passionate subject matter expert in Civil Construction to join our team. Working within world-class facilities at Orange Education Campus or any of the campus locations within our west region. you will share your industry knowledge and expertise with an engaged student cohort and peers. Joining a collaborative and engaged team, you will be driven, motivated and committed to building the skills of our students.

About You
You are aware of current industry requirements and have a willingness to continue to obtain industry knowledge. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to share information with your peers and students, you have the ability to translate your knowledge and experience into information which students are able to engage with through face to face and also connected learning platforms. Ideally, you have the ability to travel throughout our beautiful West region to deliver at multiple campus locations. Equipment is stored at Orange, Dubbo, Tamworth and Broken Hill.

The role of the TAFE teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the education process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

To be considered for the role you will have;

  • At least Certificate III in Civil Construction or Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operation or Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision or equivalent.
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years relevant and current post qualification experience as a civil construction worker, plant operator, leading hand or foreman.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116), Diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education.
  • Comprehensive current knowledge of the industry and job roles with a strong understanding of current trends and diversity within the Hospitality sector.
  • Demonstrated organisational and administrative skills applicable to an educational setting.
  • Drive, commitment and ability to facilitate learning in an adult environment
  • Great team player who strives to achieve success for your all students
  • Willingness and ability to travel to other campus locations within our West Region- see campus locations within this information package
  • HR truck license highly regarded
