Victoria Plantation State School is a co-educational P-6 band 5 school situated 5 km east of the township of Ingham. Ingham is renowned for it's sugar cane farming, however cattle farming is also quite predominant within the district. The community relies heavily on the Wilmar sugar mills, Macknade and Victoria for employment. Victoria is the largest sugar mill in Australia and one of the largest in the southern hemisphere.

Ingham is the gateway to the tropical coast, just an hour's drive north of Townsville. A short drive south will take you to the awe-inspiring Wallaman falls, Australia's highest permanent single drop waterfall, or travel north to pristine Hinchinbrook Island, a nature lover's paradise. Closer to home you can relax in the beautifully peaceful Ingham Botanic Gardens or follow the Hinchinbrook Heritage Trail to learn the history of the area.

With over half of Ingham's population being of Italian descent, it is no suprise that it is often referred to as "Little Italy." The annual Australian-Italian Festival in August brings thousands of visitors to the town to enjoy Italian wine, cuisine, music and culture.
