About the position

Roads, Drainage and Foreshores Maintenance are seeking to appoint 5 motivated individuals to join their team as a Maintenance Worker - Roads and Drainage.

Based at various depots and under the general direction of the Leading Hand, the position will form part of a work team that perform specialist tasks associated with the maintenance of Council’s roads and stormwater drainage networks.

Please note that the successful applicants will be appointed at the appropriate level based on qualifications, skills and experience between Operational Services level 3 and level 5. It is also a requirement of the role that you undertake a Certificate III in Civil Construction.

Key deliverables of the position:

  • Perform skilled and specialist tasks associated with the maintenance of Council’s roads, footpath and drainage network
  • Demonstrated ability to operate minor equipment and machinery associated with various works tasks.
  • Completing various organisational forms.
  • Control of public at worksites.
  • Manage work orders in SAP via a mobile device (iPad).

  • Sound physical health to enable you to satisfactorily perform the physically demanding duties of this position.
  • Effective numeracy and literacy skills commensurate with the requirements of the position.

The Selection Process
