Joseph Banks College (SC) is seeking a highly engaging Integrated Studies Teacher with experience teaching students to be inquisitive and curious learners.

The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate and dedicated educator, and highly motivated to work in a collaborative team environment.

They will provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their skills, knowledge and understandings related to Integrated Studies.

Integrated Studies provides opportunities for students to make links between content and skills developed in all learning areas, and enables students to be curious learners, supported by a variety of approaches to learning, including; inquiry learning approaches, problem based learning, design thinking and enterprise skill learning and development.

The successful applicant should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning.

They should be innovative, knowledgeable and possess thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum expertise whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Learning Area.

They will ideally be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment, underpinning our core value of respect.

To be successful in this role you should have high expectations, a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive and engaging classroom-learning environment.

You will ideally have an ability to work as a collaborative team member and you should be committed to the development of strong professional learning communities focussed on student achievement and success.

You should also have ability to assist the school in achieving a "culture of curiosity".

The successful applicant should have the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. They should have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and able to teach students of varying ability levels.

Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging ICT based technologies and cooperative learning instructional strategies is highly desirable.

As such, the successful applicant will ideally possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics.

Joseph Banks SC is an Independent Public School in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 40 kilometres from the Perth CBD. We serve students from surrounding suburbs including Carramar and Tapping.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment.

This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
