About the Position

This role is responsible for delivering occupational nursing services to staff and includes the annual flu vaccination program, occupational vaccinations (Hep A & B), first aid programs, and health promotion programs focused on improving the health and wellbeing of City employees.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery and administration of these programs in line with the City's corporate procedures and legislative requirements. With over 70 locations across the Gold Coast, this role has scope to ensure programs and services are accessible and able to be delivered to all employees across the City.

Key deliverables of the position:

  • Responsible for coordinating and managing the City's vaccination programs
  • Coordinate, supervise and support the administration of the City's internal first aid response program
  • Run existing health promotion and education programs across the City and support the development of new programs
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of existing protocols and procedures in line with industry standards, legislative requirements, and clinical best practice
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Health & Injury Management team including supporting other health and wellbeing programs, injury management, return to work and health monitoring.

To be successful in this role:

  • Possess a Bachelor of Nursing and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and AHPRA
  • Possess current Immunisation Program Nurse certification;
  • Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety is desirable but not essential
  • At least three years' experience nursing in fields including but not limited to medical clinics, GP practices, schools, government or in an occupational setting
  • Strong communication and administration skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders at various levels
  • A high level of autonomy in delivering programs in a large, complex organisation is desirable
