Job Description

The City of South Perth (the City) is seeking applications from candidates to undertake the position of Swimming Pool Inspector to join the Development Services Business Unit.

Located only 4kms from the Perth CBD, the City borders the stunning Swan River on its Northern and Western boundaries, and boasts excellent access to important social, commercial and leisure infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all private swimming pool and spa enclosures are inspected, audited and comply with relevant legislation and regulations. This position is also responsible for providing professional advice and information to stakeholders on swimming pool compliance related matters.

To be successful in this position you need to demonstrate;

  • Experience in conducting private swimming pool enclosure inspections and program administration
  • Experience in the application and enforcement of legislation in local government is desirable
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of statutory provisions relating to swimming pools
  • High level is written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people to ensure the delivery of high-level customer service
  • Current ‘C’ Class driver’s license

This permanent position is a level 5 which attracts a salary range of $72,314 - $83,239 gross per annum plus superannuation. The position is initially offered on a part-time basis (30.4 hours per week) with the potential to increase to full time.
