Galungara Public School is located on Farmland Drive Schofields in the Blacktown Local Government Area. Opening on Day 1, Term 1 2021, and with an enrolment capacity of 500 students, the school’s current enrolment of 304 students K-6, includes those from non-English speaking backgrounds and students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Including three classes that cater for students with disabilities Galungara Public prides itself on its inclusive environment.
With rapidly growing enrolments, recruitment of personnel, development and refinement of procedures and collaborative visioning processes the school is expected to experience significant growth in the first five years of operation. Approval for Phase 2 development has been given, with construction beginning in 2022. Once completed, Galungara Public school will have accommodation for approximately 1000 students.
The school site boasts special programs rooms and features, flexible teaching and learning spaces designed to support a pedagogical focus that underpins the development of creative and critical thinkers capable of deep inquiry. Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6) with demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs to improve student outcomes using evidence-based and data informed practices.
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the capacity to develop positive and collaborative relationships that enable the whole school community to connect, succeed and thrive within a changing educational landscape.
Ability to implement contemporary teaching pedagogies, within innovative learning environments, to maximise student engagement and support the needs of all students.
Skills and/or experience to organise sporting opportunities through delivering inclusive programs and leading whole school initiatives that connect with the wider school sport community.
