Job Description

We are looking for an outstanding, strategic Head of Department to fill a temporary position across a mix of curriculum areas for Term 4 2021, unless otherwise determined. This opportunity requires the successful candidate to have strong flexibility, independence, leadership, change management and communication skills.

About the Role:

FVSSC is seeking an energetic leader with experience in:

  • Science and/or
  • Technologies

As a Head of Department you will have accountability across a range of curriculum areas and cross/extra-curricular activities as well as whole school strategic and/or operational processes. Experience in these areas should be clearly articulated in your application. You will be an agile leader with a record of success in providing quality learning outcomes for all students. As an instructional leader, you will be focused on developing students who are problem-solvers with decision-making agility and risk-taking skills who can move into the future with confidence and resilience.

Please note that the campus will not have on-site parking. Candidates will need to consider options for public transport or paid parking facilities. The area is well-serviced by public bus and rail and the school includes end-of-trip facilities including showers, lockers and bicycle storage.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. 
  • Teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services.
