About the School:

The first of its kind in Far North Queensland, Cairns State Special School is a state-of-the-art facility providing teaching spaces and outdoor areas to support the delivery of engaging and relevant learning experiences appropriate to the diverse needs of our students. Our teaching team currently provide highly specialised and individualised programs for students from Prep to Year 12 with diverse learning needs including intellectual and/or multiple impairments. We have worked hard to establish and nurture positive and productive relationships between students, parents, teachers, therapists, student services, the community and state education system.

About the Role:

As the Principal you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. 
  • Teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services.
