Alexandrina Council is searching for a qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join its planning team as the Strategic Development and Policy Planner in a full-time permanent capacity.
Alexandrina Council is a diverse and dynamic organisation which has so much to offer a person looking for a position that will enable them to develop a number of key planning documents that will help shape the region's rural and coastal environments and its historic and vibrant townships.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic and adaptable person who is looking to further develop their professional career within Local Government town planning in a diverse environment.
Reporting to the Manager Strategic Development, some of the key responsibilities are:
- To take the lead in reviewing and initiating amendments to the Council's Development Plan and preparation of other key strategic planning documents particular in light of the transition requirements under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act
- Assist with the transition processes that will be required under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act
- Ensure projects are managed and coordinated in a professional and timely manner
- To provide current, accurate and timely advice to Council, staff and the community on matters relevant to town planning
- Ensure the delivery of positive and proactive consultation and customer service
