Position Information

Moree Secondary College is situated on Gamilaroi country and is part of the Connected Communities Strategy. It services the students from the agricultural region surrounding and within the township of Moree (town population 7 000). The Carol Ave campus services our Year 7-9 and our Year 10 – 12 students are located on the Albert Street campus. 60% of our college students identify as ATSI (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander). 

The college is committed to creating connected classrooms with staff who have completed targeted professional learning to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of assessment capable visible learners. We continue to create strong connections with the school community to improve attendance and engagement inclusive of Moree community groups, Moree Local AECG and external agencies. 

Our campuses are located within the centre of Moree which also hosts outstanding recreation, sporting, banking, performing arts and shopping facilities. You can travel daily by air and train to Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and Sydney and by bus to Brisbane. Selection Criteria

Candidates must address all of the following criteria in the application:

  1. Approval to teach Personal Development, Health & Physical Education (PHP), Sport, Lifestyle & Recreation / Physical Activity & Sport Studies (SLR) and Community and Family Studies (CFS).
  2. Proven capacity to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create PDHPE classrooms that are dynamic, engaging, inclusive and foster a culture of high expectations.
  3. Developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and collaborate with students, staff, parents and the wider community. 


An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
