Our Operations and Fleet Services team is responsible for the reactive, preventative and scheduled maintenance of buildings, lighting and park structures, removal of graffiti and maintaining the City’s fleet.

We are looking for a Building Trades Supervisor who is at the top of their game to lead – you guessed it – our Trades team. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of an effective maintenance, repair and improvement program that keeps City facilities and buildings ‘fit for purpose’, you will lead a team of carpenters, metal trades officers, graffiti removal specialists, painters and a playground maintainer. This role offers you the opportunity to put your considerable knowledge of building specifications, including construction drawing interpretation, and contract management skills to work – as well as providing support and technical expert advice to your team, you will source, engage and supervise contractors and subcontractors.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  1. Strong communication, conflict resolution, supervisory and interpersonal skills.
  2. Advanced knowledge of building specifications and contract documentation, including interpretation of construction drawings.
  3. Ability to programme works, manage own time and ensure efficient completion and documentation of projects.
  4. Significant experience in a leadership role.
  5. Trade certificate in a building related industry.
  6. ‘C’ class drivers licence.

We are offering a cash salary of $93,738 per annum and:

  • 11% superannuation and the opportunity to co-contribute up to 14.5%
