About the role
As Council’s Depot Services Assistant you will assist in the daily operations and maintenance of Council’s Depot facilities and will provide support to Council’s stores, workshop and fabrication staff. In this role you will undertake daily inspections on the Depot sheds, yard, and car park and will act as general caretaker for the Depot by ensuring all areas are kept clean and equipment and stockpiles are well maintained. You will also be responsible for the delivery of diesel fuel to Council work sites and will help to maintain Depot security by ensuring fencing, security alarm beams and gates are maintained adequately.
To be successful in this role you will have experience in the caretaking and maintenance of industrial premises. Further to this, you will possess strong time management skills and have an ability to multi-task and execute tasks in a timely fashion. Your commitment to providing a high level of service to internal stakeholders, and the ability to work as part of a team will also be essential to success in this role
Possession of a HR driver’s licence and WorkCover Front End Loader and Forklift certificate of competence will be essential to success in this role. Although not essential, possession of a White Card will be highly regarded.
This is a permanent full-time role, working 38 hours per week, with a base salary ranging $49,494 up to $54,939 per year based on demonstrated competencies + allowances + 9.5% p.a. super. Work hours are currently 6.45am- 3.45pm Monday- Friday.
