to work at Gold Coast's newest state-of-the-art aquatic centre in Pimpama

The City of Gold Coast is excited to soon be opening a new, state-of-the-art aquatic centre at Pimpama Sports Hub.  If you’re passionate about aquatics, water safety and delivering exceptional customer service, we’re looking for experienced Pool Lifeguards to join our casual team over Summer 2021/22. 

As a member of the Pool Lifeguard Team, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the supervision of the public in the use of aquatic facilities, ensuring that swimming pools and surrounds are under constant surveillance and that patrons conduct themselves in accordance with the conditions of entry.
• Performing operational procedures as required, including opening and closing of venue, application and removal of pool blankets, setting up for pool programs and events, maintenance and storage of equipment and reporting of any security or maintenance issues.
• Carrying out water quality and temperature testing and pool plant operations and maintenance
• Providing a high level of customer service to patrons
• Communicating with and educating pool patrons on water safety and appropriate behaviour.
• Carrying out rescues as required, and rendering first aid/resuscitation to any person who require attention
• Undertaking cleaning to meet COVID Workplace Health and Safety plans.
• Undertaking maintenance and other operational duties as required.

The Selection Process

As part of our selection process, you may be required to undertake a face to face interview and practical skills testing. You will also be required to undertake police checks, employment history checks, qualification checks, a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Australian Standards and Council's procedures.
