An opportunity exists at Flagstone State Community College for an outstanding school leader in the role of Deputy Principal. The successful candidate will play a vital role in leading the strategic direction of the College, and will be passionate about joining our dynamic and future focused leadership team. They will foster strong partnerships with cluster schools, have a depth and breadth of knowledge and understanding of the Australian Curriculum and will lead the capability development of staff in the adoption of effective teaching and learning practices that mobilize our vision of ‘Success!! Every student… every day!'. As such, the successful candidate will have a proven ability to lead change in curriculum and pedagogical practices. Flagstone State Community College is a future focused co-educational high school located near Jimboomba in Logan City. It is a co-educational school with approximately 875 students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds in year levels 7-12.  Since opening in 2002, Flagstone SCC has maintained a very proud tradition of quality educational programs supported by excellent teachers and continued student successes.

About the Role:

As the Deputy Principal you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
  • Be futures oriented and strategic.
  • Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
  • Manage resources to achieve goals.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:
