Job Description

Ongoing Full-time Position

Level 2 – Salary Band: $59,699.00 - $64,171.00 per annum 

The purpose of the position is to assist the Infrastructure Asset Services and Financial Services Teams in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Technology One Strategic Assets Management system and the provision of accurate asset data to support asset management.

Position Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for setting objectives for yourself and others, taking a forward looking perspective and delivering successful outcomes within agreed parameters:

  • Responsible for delivering excellence in customer service to internal and external customers;
  • Responsible for the project and data support role in the implementation of the TechnologyOne Strategic Asset Management module;
  • Provide input and undertake reviews and updates of asset data to support asset management planning;
  • Update Councils Geographical Information System (GIS) to ensure an accurate representation of Council’s assets;
  • Assist in the input, review and update of asset data to support asset valuations; and
  • Where necessary conduct onsite inspections and collection of data for assets.

Independence and Decision-making

  • Technical responsibilities are carried under regular direction and within clearly defined guidelines.

Customer Stakeholder Management/Service Standard Delivery

  • Develop, support and maintain internal and external relationships; and
  • Assist in the implementation of Service Delivery Standards relevant to the position.

Disaster Management

  • Be available to provide an important role in disaster management response and recovery during and following activation of Council’s Local Disaster Management Group in times of natural disasters; and
  • Undertake training as required to provide a proficient and effective service in Council’s Local Disaster Coordination Centre.

Key Selection Criteria 


  1. Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of Council’s organisational structure and functions;
  2. Intermediate computer skills with a proficiency in Excel highly regarded and ability to rapidly acquire proficiency in Council administration and reporting software systems;
  3. Demonstrated applied knowledge in the use of databases and/or Geographical Information System (GIS), supported by strong administration skills;
  4. Demonstrated time management skills combined with combination of good analytical skills;
  5. High level verbal and written communication skills; and
  6. Current Queensland ‘C’ Class licence.  


  1. Knowledge and experience in using or developing a Geographical Information System (GIS) in a technical environment; and
  2. Knowledge and experience in using Council’s current software systems, including TechnologyOne.  

Workplace Health and Safety
Responsible for always abiding by Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) principles to protect yourself and that of any other person in the workplace. This will include:

  • Strict adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements as per the WHS Induction and/or Council requirements;
  • Abiding by Council WHS Policies, Procedures and training at all times;
  • Complying with instructions given for WHS;
  • Reporting any personal injury, third party or vehicle incidents or damage to your Supervisor immediately;
  • Never operating machinery, equipment or vehicles under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs;
  • Not wilfully or recklessly interfering with or misusing anything provided for WHS;
  • Not wilfully or recklessly placing at risk the WHS of yourself or others; and
  • Reporting any WHS concerns and hazards to your direct Team Leader or Manager and/or the WHS Coordinator immediately.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements 

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office based although will require regular travel and the ability to move around existing or potential work sites; and
  • Work Environment - Indoor and Outdoor based.
