Position title: Project Engineer (Operations) - Transport

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career. In this position you will work on challenging projects that will make a real difference for the community and provide you with invaluable experience and professional development.

This position is responsible for:

  • The delivery of projects for Council’s Capital Works Program (which may also include maintenance programs and natural disaster assistance)

  • Starting with the agreed Project Charter, this position is involved with the project through initiation, planning, execution and close out phases

  • Liaising with the Project Delivery team within the Project & Engineering department to ensure projects run in a smooth manner and agreed outcomes are met.

If you:

  • have construction management experience or demonstrated experience in managing various transport infrastructure projects concurrently

The package

  • Permanent, Full Time working 35 hours per week

  • Commencing salary will be dependent on qualifications, skills and experience of the successful applicant with a range of circa $83,000 to $99,000 p.a plus superannuation

  • A leaseback vehicle is also be available with this position.


This position will be based at either our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree or one of our Works Depots at Taree or Gloucester. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
