  • working within a culture that promotes a healthy work-life balance with flexible working arrangements;

About the Workplace Relations Team

The Workplace Relations team are critical members of the P&C Branch who are responsible for investigating and managing workplace grievances, drafting disciplinary letters, responding to Industrial Tribunal applications (including unfair dismissals and dispute applications), representing the City at conciliation conferences and formal arbitrations, and playing a key role in the negotiations of the Certified Agreement and Local Area Agreements.  Further, the roles are hands-on in assisting line leaders and HR Business Partners in effectively managing workplace grievances, including coaching managers through performance management processes and advising on industrial relations matters.

Our Workplace Relations team is growing and we are therefore seeking a number of high calibre IR / HR professionals to join us.

With a new leadership structure in place in the People and Culture Branch, it is the intention to develop our internal talent through career planning, succession planning and professional development.  The City is therefore particularly interested to hear from recent graduates seeking a role at Officer level with the view to develop a long term career path, whether that is within the Workplace Relations team or elsewhere in the wider People and Culture Branch.

The roles are located at our Waterside West office, Holden Place, Bundall (opposite the Home of the Arts).  All positions are available for immediate appointment.  Salary information is provided in the attached information.
