The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Safer Streets Patrol is expanding and we currently have two (2) vacant positions.

This is an exciting time to join a dedicated and proud team, as we grow under the newly created Community Safety department within The City.

So what are we looking for?
Aside from the formal job requirements below, we are looking for team members with the gift of the gab. Ideally you'll be a great communicator, able to converse with persons from all walks of life, and de-escalate situations through talking only. On the rare occasion where that doesn't work, you'll have demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to identify and manage risk appropriately. You'll have a humanitarian touch, and when required, can demonstrate empathy and compassion, whilst maintaining the safety of our community. You'll also be relatively fit, an enjoy walking around, rain, hail or shine!

Requirements:

  • Security Licence Holder or equivalent training , such as Certificate II or Ill in Security Operations, or law-enforcement experience (essential)
  • Current unrestricted WA C-Class Drivers Licence (essential)
  • Current satisfactory National Police Clearance (essential)
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (desired)
  • Current Working with Children Check (desired but not essential)
  • Covid-19 vaccinations required under Australian Government direction (essential)

*Applicants to note current hours are rostered between 6:00am - 6:00pm Monday to Friday, however there is a possibility of expansion which may see rotational night shifts introduced.

Total Package
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
