About the role

Shoalhaven City Council’s Water Utility is currently seeking a motivated individual for a permanent full-time position in the Water Asset Planning & Development Department.

This position is located in the Nowra Administration Building and will work closely with all areas of the organisation to develop, update and maintain the Asset Register and GIS Mapping data for Shoalhaven Water.


Reporting directly to the Coordinator – Asset Data, the focus of this position is to:

  • Update and maintain asset register and GIS mapping data for Shoalhaven Water assets, including but not limited to water and wastewater treatment, reticulation, buildings, structures and telecommunication assets.
  • Collect asset data in the form of identification, attributes, condition and geospatial location as required.
  • Ensure asset data meets operational, managerial and legislative requirements.
  • Produce reports to assist with the analysis of asset data as required.

Skills & Experience

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Diploma in Spatial Information Services, Certified Associate in Asset Management, equivalent engineering or at least 3 years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated competency in the use of MS Office applications, specifically Access, Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated experience in computer Database Administration or Geographic Information Systems.
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
