About the role

The Senior Planner will translate the annual ‘Civil’, and ‘Parks, Open Spaces and Environment’ (POSE) programs (derived from the annual capital plan) into project specific plans on a six weekly cycle and weekly works schedules. This role is directly responsible for developing, maintaining and continually improving all tools necessary to implement the annual Civil and POSE programs. This includes all planning and scheduling work undertaken within Construction Maintenance and Operations, and direct oversight of a team of one planner and five schedulers, and engagement with the planning aspects of the four technical officer positions.

About you

Our ideal candidate looks like:

  • Relevant planning qualification and/or more than ten years of extensive experience in business and/or construction and maintenance planning.
  • In depth knowledge of, and highly experienced in, working under relevant Commonwealth and Queensland WH&S legislation, regulation, policies and practices.
  • Highly experienced in resource allocation (people, plant and material) for optimisation of budget and time outcomes.
  • Highly experienced in procurement policies and practices, and contract negotiations and management.
  • Highly experienced with traffic management, including with traffic guidance schemes, traffic management plans, the Traffic and Road Use Manual (TRUM) and MUTCD.
  • Current Queensland “C” class driver’s licence.
