The Shire of East Pilbara is the largest Local Government Authority in Western Australia, servicing the town sites of Newman, Marble Bar, Nullagine and local communities.

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and determined candidate to complete a Certificate IV in Community Services with the Shire’s Youth Services team on a 2 year contract with an option to extend for a further year.  Whilst completing the Certificate IV you will be supporting the Coordinator Youth Services in the daily operations of the Newman Youth Centre and youth services across the Shire, assisting in the implementation of activities and programs.

You will: have the willingness to participate in the implementation of youth services programs and activities, have the ability to work with and enthuse young people, have sound interpersonal skills and effective time management skills, and must be able to prove your Covid-19 vaccination status in accordance with the current Government directives.

On offer is a salary range between $360.29 and $732.83 per week (depending on age) whilst completing the Certificate IV.  Once the Certificate IV has been completed, the salary will be increased between the range of $57,460.00 and $58,240.00 per annum. All TAFE costs associated with undertaking Certificate IV in Community Services will be covered by the Shire of East Pilbara. Additional benefits include a Living Allowance of up to $15,000 per annum, 10% superannuation, 5 weeks annual leave, a uniform allowance, parental leave, eligibility for long service leave, annual travel assistance and professional development.
