The Opportunity:

Yarrabilba State Secondary College is particularly seeking Industrial Technology & Design, Digital Technologies, Senior Maths and Specialist Science Teachers as well as all other learning areas.

Yarrabilba State Secondary College (YSSC), the foundation high school in the rapidly growing community of Yarrabilba, opened in 2020 for its first two cohorts and in 2023 will cater to years 7-11. YSSC provides students with a unique educational experience unlike any other Logan Secondary College. Our point of difference is that we deliver Australian Curriculum through outdoor, cross-curricular and project-based learning, balancing the use of technology with human connection and learning in the natural environment. Teachers coming into a new school environment need to have exceptional relational skills, be driven to build a positive, welcoming and supportive school culture and be willing and able to commit to the school's development and growth.

Yarrabilba State Secondary College is a dynamic, future-focused learning community, committed to empowering our students to succeed in their chosen pathway. At Yarrabilba State Secondary College, we have chosen to deliver the Australian Curriculum in a non-traditional way.  It is our belief that a non-traditional teaching and learning model better prepares diverse learners for 21st Century learning and life.  By combining the model of project-based learning, entrepreneurship, outdoor and hands on learning we aim to produce graduates who go on to live lives of choice, not lives of chance.

Heavily influenced by Inclusive Education practices and Positive Education, our teaching and learning approach requires teachers to be innovative, and passionate about the success and wellbeing for all students. Teachers joining our team will need to be confident and strong communicators with exceptional relational skills.

At Yarrabilba State Secondary College we put the wellbeing of our staff, students and families as the top priority and are seeking teachers who thrive on working in collaborative partnerships. Our teachers engage in continual cycles of inquiry to ensure that we are best meeting the needs of our students and school college community. Teachers at YSSC must be passionate about engaging in innovative pedagogies and be problem-solvers with decision-making agility and risk-taking skills. If this sounds like you, then join us for this unique opportunity as we develop and expand our school through to Year 12 in 2024.
