A little bit about the role
A fantastic opportunity has come about for a part-time Senior Planner to join the Strategic and Statutory Planning Department. Reporting to the Coordinator Statutory Planning, you will support the delivery of high-quality land uses and developments in an organisation that is progressive with a customer first focus. You will bring a strong advocacy and engagement approach to achieve a truly liveable community.
In this role you will provide advice about development and land use proposals, as well as providing information to assist the community in its understanding of these proposals. This includes negotiating land use and development that responds to policy context, is site responsive, sustainable and upholds the amenity expectations of residents. When required, you will represent council’s position on planning at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
This is an important role which will contribute to our overall effectiveness through process improvement and digital transformation.
A little bit about you
You will have minimum 5 years’ experience as a Planning Officer dealing in land use and development concepts in a local government of similar environment. You will have strong knowledge of the Planning Environment Act, Subdivisions Act and Planning Schemes related to Land use and development.
A good problem solver with an analytical mind, you will also be an excellent communicator who is able to work with a range of stakeholders to deliver on Councils’ priorities. You will have relevant qualifications in Town Planning or equivalent which meet the requirements for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
The role requires a current Victorian driver’s licence.
