The Opportunity

The Head Teacher Allied Timber Trades is a fast-paced role within the Innovation, Robotics and Science team within our Western Sydney region, based at Lidcombe campus.

This is your chance to occupy an education leadership role in subject matter you love and be a part of a team geographically dispersed team across Western Sydney region. You will be surrounded by industry professionals who have a passion for all areas within Infrastructure and Construction services.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have experience in in managing and leading a passionate team, together with a team of two other Head Teachers you will work collaboratively to deliver a high level of course completions and customer satisfaction.

Your high-level stakeholder engagement experience will be key to your success, with the main focus of your role being building interstate relationships and increasing activity outside the state of NSW.

You have the ambition and drive to mentor your staff and students, passing on your experience and knowledge within a high growth industry. Previous experience in training and assessing in an adult learning environment is essential along with the ability to drive the delivery strategy forward.

You will also are flexible in your delivery of information including face to face and connected learning platforms.

To be considered for the role you will have:
Trade Qualification certificate in a one or more of the following,

  • Cabinetmaking,
  • Upholstery,
  • Wood machining,
  • Floorcovering,
  • Furniture finishing
  • Diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education
  • Minimum two (3) years full-time experience leadership role
  • Proven administrative skills including high level written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor a team to achieve great results
  • Ideally, you would have systems experience in EBS, SAP, e-checklists, Teacher Program Diary (TPD)
