Coordinator Human Resources Services

• Band 8 ($115,346 to $128,469) plus 10% Super plus monthly ADO

The Opportunity

The People and Capability Department have a permanent full time opportunity for a suitably experienced Coordinator Human Resources Services to lead a small team of human resources professionals. Reporting to the Manager People and Capability, this position will provide high quality human resource management and employee relations advice and services to Managers and employees throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and recommend suitable strategies to Managers/Coordinators on human resource management issues including recruitment, performance management and equal employment opportunity;
• Provide guidance and support to Managers regarding work design and workplace reviews that lead to increased efficiencies and organisational effectiveness;
• Provide guidance and advice to Managers in the resolution of internal staff and manager grievances and disputes including resolution advice;
• Research changes that take place in the respective areas of legislation and provide advice and guidance to the Manager People and Capability and Executive Management Team;
• Provide remuneration and classification advice/direction to Managers and employees, in accordance with legislation, awards and Council policies and procedures;
• Liaise with union organisers and representatives on employee relations matters including grievance/dispute resolution; and
• Assist in the development of Council's Enterprise Agreement provisions including research and development of initiatives.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

• A tertiary qualification in human resource management or related discipline with extensive relevant experience in the human resource management environment.
• Extensive experience in researching and analysing diverse and complex human resource related issues and aligning these to business requirements.
• Facilitation and leadership skills to enable the solving of problems through discussion, negotiation and team work;
• Experience in relating to and establishing strong working relationships with staff at all levels and with key external stakeholders;

This position requires the incumbent to have highly developed interpersonal skills including consultation, conflict resolution and conciliation skills to assist in the resolution of complex people issues. We are also looking for a collaborative and service oriented individual who enjoys working in a dynamic and fast paced team environment.
