Georges Hall Public School is a P3 school with an enrolment of over 750 students and a community that has high expectations. It is located in South Western Sydney in a low density residential zone in the Bankstown Local Government area.

The school is set in expansive grounds serving an increasingly diverse, urban population. Currently over 88% of our students come from a language background other than English.

The school has an ongoing commitment to the development and delivery of quality teaching and learning programs, with an emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy.

Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary

  • Proven ability to lead the implementation of high quality, differentiated and innovative literacy and numeracy programs based on evidence-based practices and effective assessment and data analysis.
  • Capacity to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complexities of a leadership role, including the demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire teachers of all experience levels.
  • Proven ability to positively contribute to a whole school approach to wellbeing which promotes inclusivity, high expectations and engagement for all students.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a dynamic leadership team, strategically planning, leading, and monitoring initiatives and applying evaluative practices to drive continuous improvement.

General Selection Criteria

  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
