Drawing on your professional experience and excellent communication skills, you will work with applicants, objectors and residents to achieve exceptional outcomes through the planning approvals process, and ensure that the requirements of the Alpine Planning Scheme, the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and other related legislation are met for all planning matters.

Our ideal candidate

At Alpine Shire Council we are constantly looking for new ways to deliver the best possible outcomes for our communities. 

With your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will be able to work with your colleagues and staff to ensure positive outcomes. You can multi-task, prioritise, meet deadlines, and use technology and software solutions to get your job done well.

You will be well organised and value attention to detail. With your excellent communication skills, you will be able to develop positive relationships that result in better outcomes. As an industry professional, you will have a good working knowledge of the applicable legislation and an understanding of enforcement and prosecution procedures. 

• Appropriate town planning degree, diploma, and be a Registered Planner (Planning Institute of Australia).
• A theoretical and practical knowledge and ability to interpret Town Planning legislation and practices including associated legislation.
• The ability to provide effective specialist advice to other staff, Council, applicants, objectors and other members of the public.
• Holder of a valid Driver’s Licence
